A professional painter living in Quebec City, Hugo Landry has been interested in abstract and contemporary art for over 15 years.
 
The artist works mainly with a palette knife. He loves acrylics and prefers canvas and wood as his medium. With their explosion of color, his paintings express joy in all its forms. The texture is generous, sometimes in the form of large vertical stripes, sometimes in multicolored drippings.


Discipline and the search for balance are at the heart of the painter's artistic approach. He rarely knows the final form a painting will take. This element of risk, the unknown, and spontaneity give his work a special meaning.
